Pregnancy Massage

Massage during pregnancy offers a range of wonderful benefits. Not only it can help you to relax, massage can help support your body and your mind during the time of major physiological and emotional changes. I believe it is vital that a mother’s stress levels remain at a minimum throughout the whole pregnancy, massage to be a wonderful way of relieving stress and allowing the body & mind to slip into deep relaxation.

Pregnancy massage can also provide valuable emotional support - to receive caring and nurturing touch can be just what is needed in the fraught build up to the birth - massage can provide moments of calm and deep relaxation for you to nurture your mind and body in what can be a tumultuous time!

"I have never encountered anyone who massages like Bara. She always returns me to my body, in the most beautiful & nourishing way. Bara is very intune with what she is doing, her movement is like a dance. I savour every moment of my massage with Bara, she is truly amazing!

Bara also massaged me throughout my pregnancy, I wouldn't go to anyone else but Bara. She made me feel secure, replenished and and deeply connected to my body's changing rhythms. Bara creates a space of harmony, a safe sanctuary where a pregnant woman can let go and receive. It is also a wonderful preparation for birth. I would highly recommend Bara to all pregnant women.

"A massage with Bara is perfection from beginning to end. All the details she pays such attention to add to it being something very special.

The room is warm, welcoming and a space you can truly relax and feel peaceful in. From the hot flannels with which she baths your feet to the thoughtful and inspiring music she plays. I have never had a massage like it. Then there is Bara herself. The massage she gave was one of the best I've ever had. She is a talented and professional masseuse whom I wouldn't hesitate in recommending"

"My postpartum massage with Bara was a wonderful treat. A week after giving birth to my baby daughter my body was still aching all over with no sign of getting better. After receiving a lovely long massage from Bara I finally started feeling better, so wonderfully nourished and supported in my recovery. Bara is very intuitive and respectful which allowed me to fully relax and enjoy the precious two hours to myself. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the massage and would highly recommend Bara to all new mothers".

"Bara is an exceptional massage therapist, her antenatal massage is by far the best I ever experienced. She came to my home to provide the massage as I was 37 weeks pregnant. She made me very comfortable, her energy is warm and supportive. I would highly recommend Bara for antenatal massage and am looking forward to my first postnatal very soon!"

Massage is especially effective during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, as it can help relieve various physical pressurers and strains. Did you know your spine and skeletal structure supports up to 18kg of additional weight during your pregnancy?! This puts a great deal of stress on your lower back, neck, abdominal muscles and shoulders. Your ligaments also relax whilst you are pregnant, so that your pelvic joints are less stable, and this therefore changes your posture, pulling your pelvis forward. Your organs also shift to accommodate the baby, and meanwhile you go through significant emotional and psychological changes.

Pregnancy can be quite a journey to say the least, come along and treat yourself for a beautiful relaxing and nurturing massage – you definitely deserve it!

Postpartum Massgae - "Closing The Bones"

Massage therapy is not only good before childbirth, but also afterwards and if there was ever a time you deserve a massage it's now!

Postpartum massage helps to restore your body and soul after carrying and delivering your precious child. The hips open during the pregnancy, becoming wider and wider, and after the birth it is paramount to help close them back to their normal width, otherwise mothers can suffer from pelvic instability in the future.

This massage plays an important part in the restoration of the abdominal muscle wall and the uterus to its normal state as well as 'closing the bones' of the pelvis.

It helps to realign the body weight to its original distribution, and tones the overstretched areas of skin over the belly.

As with all massages, it relieves muscle tension and stress from everyday activities, especially new mothering duties.
